W. Kevin Hicks
Kevin Hicks is a Founding Member and CEO of Gator Grading & Paving, LLC, a company formed in January 2007, and is a Florida licensed General Contractor and Underground Utility & Excavation Contractor. Kevin co-owns and serves as President of Gatorgap, Inc. and is also co-owner of GGAP Properties, LLC.
Kevin is a graduate of Manatee Junior College and attended the University of South Florida.
Kevin served in the US Army as the Battalion Construction Sergeant. In 1978, he re-entered the private sector, going to work for Gator Asphalt Company of Bradenton, where he ultimately became VP/GM and Part Owner. Gator Asphalt was acquired by APAC in 2000. Kevin then took a position as President of Mangum Asphalt Services of Raleigh NC. In 2003 Mangum Asphalt Services and CC Mangum Construction consolidated to form CC Mangum Company. Kevin served as the Sr VP/COO of this $75 million/400+ employee Heavy Highway Company until 2006.
Kevin has long been active in community affairs. He currently is an officer of the Florida Transportation Builders Association, a past director of the EDC of Sarasota County, a member of the Bradenton Area EDC, and is a Past Chairman of the Board of Bay Village of Sarasota. Kevin is a Past Chairman of the Gulf Coast Builders Exchange and is a member of Asphalt Contractors of Florida, and many local Chambers of Commerce. Kevin is a Past President of the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce, Past President of the Carolina Asphalt Association, and Past Chairman of SCOPE. He served as a past member of the Metropolitan Planning Organization, CAC, the Sarasota County Board of Zoning Appeals and City of Venice Zoning Appeals Board.
Kevin is a 1988 graduate of Leadership Sarasota where he received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1998.
Kevin has been married to his wife Linda since 1974 and has 2 children and 5 grandchildren and currently resides in Sarasota.
